Each month at Westwood, we set aside the third Thursday night of the month for a time of community prayer. We do this because we want prayer to be a priority in our congregation, because Jesus as our example was a man of prayer, and because we believe our power to go forth in the authority of Christ is linked directly to prayer.

1 John 5:14–15 (ESV)

14 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.
