NEXT STEPS
So, what’s next? What do you need? We are ready to help you in any way that we can. God created you with a specific purpose in mind. You have a calling! We would love to help you put that calling into motion. So, what’s next? It’s time to go deeper!
Ask for prayer
At Westwood, members and guests ask for help through prayer every week. The church family prays, our elders and staff pray. So, what do you need help with? Are you stuck? Do you need wisdom? Do you need God to step in and do something miraculous? Let us know, and we will pray.
Meet with a Pastor
Our pastors desire to be open and available to meet with you and provide Gospel-centered and Biblically based guidance. Life is challenging and we all have times when we need help from others as we journey towards healing, growth, and maturity.
Explore Membership at Westwood
At Westwood, we crave and believe in community. Community is life in association with others. Some will say, “I don’t need to be in a church to be a follower of Jesus.” We say, “I’m sorry, but that is wrong. The scriptures are full of commands about how we are to treat and interact with ‘one another.’” There is really no way to walk these things out by ourselves. The bottom line? We need each other. We are better together.

Baptism
Acts 2:38 (ESV)
And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Baptism is an important event in the life of a Christ follower. Jesus commanded his followers to, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…” (Matthew 28:19). So baptism is the initial act of obedience by one who has repented of their sins and asked Jesus Christ to dwell in their heart. It is a declaration to heaven and earth of your commitment, and devotion to the Lamb of God.
If you have never been baptized, or perhaps you were baptized as a child, we encourage you to talk with someone today about this very important step.
Premarital Counseling
Marriage is absolutely the most significant and complex person-to-person relationship of our lives. Let’s be honest, all of us start out with stars in our eyes and then find marriage is not as simple as we had assumed. At Westwood, our goal is to help couples build a life together that doesn’t just survive, but thrives! If you are seeking to have a wedding officiated by a member of our Westwood staff, premarital counseling is a requirement. We recommend getting started approximately 90 days before you plan to have your ceremony. This will ensure you have time to complete everything without needing to rush.
Join a Life Group
Life Groups are small communities of believers, where people get connected so that we can, well… “be the church.” We generally talk about the the previous Sunday’s message in a way that brings application to our individual lives. Life Groups are a place of discipleship and safe, loving accountability. We pray for each other and touch base with each other throughout the week. We all need a group of friends like this in our life!
Find a Place to Serve
Romans 12:4 says, “For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function…” This means that God has gifted each one of us with just what the Body of Christ needs to grow. What’s more, when people are released in their God-given talents, they each grow in their relationship to Christ like never before!
